Wildlife and interactions! Be respectful of the ocean and its inhabitants, don’t chase marine life or force interactions... When curious creatures want to interact with you on their own terms, that’s when the magic really happens. A few days ago, the day before our incredible encounter with these Pacific white-sided dolphins, we had a completely different encounter with a different species, and the least we can say is that it wasn’t magical...
We witnessed absolutely disrespectful behavior on the part of other boats, captains, “guides”, but also the tourists on board, and it was for this very reason that we decided to leave the area so as not to add stress to these poor creatures. Seeing posts on social media that same evening, or just a few days later, from people present at the same location on other boats (even renowned photographers) talking about “the magic” of this encounter, was just pathetic and full of nonsense.
How can you spread the idea that you love and protect wildlife, sometimes even with a few hundred thousand followers, when in fact you act as if you clearly have no idea what you’re doing... This problem has become global, it’s not just about one place (many places in the world suffer from the same behaviors), it’s not about one person or one specific creature...
The problem is created by ego and when “tour guides” are clearly not qualified to make the right decisions for the situation.
Having an Instagram account full of photos and reels of marine life doesn’t at all mean you’re qualified or even legally allowed to offer tours and take responsibility for the welfare of wildlife and customers. As a company, it’s your responsibility to explain to your customers that some days on the water will be incredible and magical, and that other days may be very slow or even sometimes you won’t see anything...
Interacting responsibly with marine life takes time, effort and dedication, and even taking all that into account, sometimes it won’t work simply because the animals won’t... Guess what...? It’s called nature! #ecotourism #wildlife #respect #ocean

Some days on the water are even better than dreams… Two days ago, after an already action-packed day of bait balls, striped marlins, sea lions and whales, we found this pod of around 200 Pacific white-sided dolphins on the second day of our second Baja Sardine Run expedition of the season.
